The Bracelet

For as long as I can remember, I was fascinated by Nagas; half-human, half-snake creatures. I developed a love, or as most people called it an obsession, of the fascinating creatures and hoped that eventually I would become one.

One day, I decided to drop by the local thrift store to see if there was anything worth buying, but like always, absolutely nothing of interest. I was about to walk away when I saw a beautiful bracelet in the shape of a coiled snake and it was gold.

"Can I help you, dear boy?" A voice suddenly rang out from the empty store. I turned on my heel and saw an elderly gentleman with grey hair, gnarled hands, liver spots on the top of his forehead,and a slouched posture.

I looked at the golden bracelet and asked him how much is it purchase the trinket? The man looked at the bracelet and then at me. He smiled and told me that the bracelet is free, meaning I could have it. I was absolutely ecstatic! Quickly, I snatched it up and ran out of the store, not looking back.

When I got home,my mom greeted me at the door as always then looked at the bracelet, frowned and said, "Thomas Johansen, don't tell me that you bought another useless piece of garbage home with you?"

I sighed and just headed upstairs towards my room. After getting inside, I looked at the beautiful piece of jewelry and decided to put it on. But just as soon as it was around my wrist, I saw something weird: the head of the snake started moving on its own.

My eyes widen in surprise as I saw the snake uncoil from my wrist and before I could even react, it started to burrow deep inside of my skin until I couldn't see it anymore!

It got even stranger; the area where the snake burrowed in started to become like scales. Then it spread towards my hand and towards my elbow. My nails grew out as huge claws as well as my other hand,with the scales stopping at the same area.

I felt something painful in my mouth so I opened it and saw that my canine teeth were growing out into huge pointed fangs. I was freaking out, yet enjoying the feeling at the same time as the changes continue.

Worried that it might've spread somewhere else, I took off my denim jeans and saw that not only did the scales spread through my arms, but it also reached my legs too. The scales were hard and bluish green in color, but it got even more strange; as soon as I saw the scales on my legs, I felt them get larger, more muscular like a real snakes.

My legs started to fuse together then I could feel a sharp pain in my back as my spine lengthened and grew out as a tail.

Finally, the transformation was almost over as I could feel my tongue stretch out like someone was pulling saltwater taffy. It then gotten thinner and split down the middle looking more like a serpent's tongue than that of a regular human's.

Afterwards, the transformation stopped and I was curious as to what I looked like, so I tried to get to the closest mirror I could find. Unfortunately,I tried to walk,but I fell flat on my face and had to use my hand to pick myself up again.

With great difficulty, I used the new muscles in my tail to slither towards the mirror in my room and what I saw made my heart nearly skip a beat! I opened my mouth and saw a pair of razor sharp fangs.

When I flicked my tongue out of my mouth, I could taste the air around my room, which made me gag a bit because of the nasty smells in it.

I couldn't believe it,a trinket I got from a thrift store had changed my life forever! I wanted to become what I always dreamed of and because of the bracelet so my wish finally came true. But a bigger question comes to mind; how exactly do I get downstairs without falling?
