Police Announcement: The Miami police has issued a warning against using your headlights because of gang initiations that has something to do with it! Please don't flash your headlights if you see a car with theirs off!
I remember that night clearly; I was getting off of work at the local hospital after my shift ended. I climbed in my car, slammed the door, started up my car, and finally was heading for home. As I took the fastest route home, I saw a light blue car with their headlights out so I decided to flash mine as a good samaritan.
After my little stunt, I was on my way, until I saw the car follow me. I was confused and thought that they wanted to pass me so I moved over. Unfortunately, the car did the same thing. I was really scared that I was being followed by a stranger so I tried to get some distance between us to lose the car.
The stranger's car still followed behind me making me very nervous so I decided to take different routes and roads so I could lose them. Finally, I made it to my neighborhood and slowly parked my car into my garage, turning the car off. I started to breathe a sigh of relief, but suddenly, I saw the flashing of headlights thinking that the car found me.
Luckily, it was a different car with their headlights on passing us and I felt a wave of relief wash over me as I was about to get out of the car. Unfortunately, the light blue car was parked in my driveway and I saw a shadow getting out of the vehicle walking towards me. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as the figure approached the door asking me to pull my window down.
When I did, the figure pulled out a gun and with three shots in my chest, I slumped onto my steering wheel, dead as a post. It turned out that I was a victim of a gang initiation that had something to do with shooting the first person who flashed their headlights then kill them. Unfortunately, I was the victim that night and I learned my lesson; never, ever flash your headlights at an unmarked car. Otherwise, you may also be a mark too.
